WDW Day 0: Leaving on a Jet Plane

With our bags packed we got up Saturday morning with nothing much to do but wait until it was time to leave. Neil and I were excited to leave; Grace on the other hand was excited at the idea of going to the Big Apple Circus in April. I had been getting all kinds of questions about the circus, "When we go to the apple circus can I get popcorn? Can I get a drink? Can I bring my elephant?"

When we got to the airport we checked in and when through security where Grace completely freaked out about having to take off her shoes and come out of the stroller. Not knowing how to explain what the point is of going threw security to a 2 1/2 year old I told her they were checking to make sure that we didn't forget anything like toothpaste. Daddy thought this was brilliant and continued to use it each day when they checked our bags at the parks.

As we walked the long walk to our gate we discovered that not far from our gate was a play area for kids. It was a small, soft version of Logan. Once all of the bigger kids cleared out much fun was had while we waited to leave. Grace discovered that in addition to the slide-shaped slide, there were several slanted suitcases that worked as slides as well.

We arrived in Orlando after 6, hungry and without a nap. Grace saw the big Disney store in the airport terminal and asked, "Is that Mickey's house?" We were able to quickly grab our luagage and were off to pick up our rental car. It took forever to get the rental (Avis tried to rent us a 2 door Eclipse, then tried giving us a car with no way to turn the alarm off). Grace quickly fell asleep on our way to the hotel. I was sad that Grace missed seeing us pass through the entrance to WDW. I checked us in and we grabbed dinner. When all was said and done for the day Grace felt asleep around 10.
